Meet Lyndsey

My passion for movement began long before I ever stepped onto teacher's mat.

As a child, I was a competitive swimmer and ballerina who developed a deep appreciation for how the human body moves, adapts, and performs. That curiosity eventually led me into the worlds of fitness, strength training, yoga, Pilates, and functional movement.

Today, I am the founder of Costa Rica Yoga Center and have dedicated my career to helping people build healthier, stronger, and more resilient bodies through movement.

Whether you are stepping into your very first pilates class, recovering from injury, suffering from sciatica, looking to improve your surfing, or seeking greater strength and flexibility, my goal is always the same:   To help you discover what your body is truly capable of.

This diverse background allows me to draw from multiple disciplines to create classes that are challenging, safe, and effective.

Why I Love Pilates

Pilates teaches people how to truly connect with their bodies. Become a master of your body through breath, centering, concentration, control, efficiency, harmony, fluidity, imagination, intuition, precision, students learn how to engage the deep stabilizing muscles of the core, including the diaphragm, pelvic floor, transverse abdominis, and multifidus.

This deeper awareness often leads to:

  • Intense body awareness

  • Reduced back pain

  • Improved posture

  • increased confidence

  • Better balance

  • Increased strength

  • Improved athletic performance

  • better S*X

Pilates is not simply exercise.

It is movement education.

Why I Love Yoga

Yoga offers something many people are missing in today's world:

The opportunity to slow down and reconnect.

When is the last time you sat in quiet more than 5 min without feeling like you are wasting time?

While yoga as we know it today is a physical practice including  flexibility, mobility, and balance, its greatest gift may be its ability to bring us into the present moment.  It's about stepping outside yourself and becoming an observer of your ming.

Yoga teaches us to breathe, observe, and accept stillness and develop a deeper relationship with ourselves both on and off the mat.

My teaching philosophy

I believe movement should be accessible to everyone.

You do not need to be flexible.

You do not need to be strong.

You do not need previous experience.

You simply need a willingness to begin.

In my classes, I encourage students to listen to their bodies, work at their own pace, and embrace progress over perfection.

At the same time, I believe people are capable of far more than they often realize.

One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping students realize their abilities, move beyond self-imposed limitations, and discover newfound confidence in their bodies.
